Happy Advent and let's roll!

Thanksgiving came and went, didn't it? We had a lovely, albeit short, visit in Houston, spending all day Wednesday cooking, Thursday eating ;), Friday at the Renaissance Festival, and Saturday driving.
Oh my goodness, at Mass on Thanksgiving Day, Ada and Paul got called out for their tiny "them-sized" mini-pumpkin pies that they'd brought up to be blessed. Ada was hesitant, but she gave Fr. Sean the pie to show the congregation. So funny. Also, this year, though it was just Nana, Pappy, and our crew (missing Ginny, Ryan, & Peter), we all agreed that it was one of our most delicious dinners we've made. I already want more leftovers.

Sunday saw the shift from turkeys --> nativities, and now we're in full-on must. pack. now. mode. We leave Wednesday for my old high school exchange host family in Germany followed by 2 weeks in Australia, spending time with Dylan's family and introducing Ada to everyone. We're very, very excited. About seeing everyone, and eating everything, and journeying through Advent with this gem of a homemade travel wreath:
Looks a bit like an Easter egg, now that I look. Hm.
If you swing on by here to read this, please say a prayer for us as we travel, and we'll be back juuust in time for Christmas in Houston -- back in NOLA for New Year's Eve. It's going to be a wild ride!
